GoldenSound is Cameron Oatley, an audio engineer and reviewer. He uses careful measurements, state of the art research and extensive experience in the high end audio industry to understand what makes great sound. For this edition, he led the research and shaped how Pro X sounds.

Your head and ears change sound before it reaches your eardrum. An in-ear monitor must replicate these effects precisely to deliver the same result your brain expects from real-world sound.

The diffuse-field head-related transfer function, or DF-HRTF, is the characterization of what your brain expects as 'correct'. With extensive research and development, we were able to get closer to true neutral than any product has achieved before. (With some careful improvements on top, because who doesn't love a bit more bass?)

We measured how true neutral sound is changed by the ears from hundreds of directions in a specialist laboratory. The research included GoldenSound’s own ears and the Brüel & Kjær 5128, the current state-of-the art ear simulator and headphone measurement fixture.

Those measurements helped us account for the test system’s own effect on sound. GoldenSound then adjusted the sound of Pro X further based on existing preference research and extensive listener focus-group testing.

Research into what people enjoy hearing helped GoldenSound refine the balance of bass, voices and instruments. The aim is deep, impactful bass alongside natural, lifelike sound.

My Status GoldenSound Pro X experience

Rencently purchased my first pair of Status Pro X earbuds after seeing the many instagram spots in my feed. Normally, I cast off such product ads but I was looking for some new earbuds to replace a pair of JBL ANC units that are older and the battery charging is degrading so they do not last long on a charge now and they are one of my favorite. So off to the Status Audio website to check these out to see what all the hype was about and as an Engineer I was impressed by the engineering that went into these small units with the larger diaphram for the bass and not one but two other seperate ones for midrange and high frequencies. This is something that you see in high end speakers that you may have purchased to use in your home for audio listening. Decided to give it a try and go for the GoldenSound Pro X since they crafted it with special tuning for a unique audio sound experience and they sure do not disapoint one bit at all. Installed the Status Audio phone App which is one of the best I have used to control the many built in profiles, GoldenSound being one of them and then created my own custom listening profile. The audio sound is so clear, crisp and accurate that I am hearing parts of the music that I have never experienced in any of the earbuds that I have ever owned from Samsung, AKG, and my past current favorite JBL units. These GoldenSound Status Pro X earbuds outpreform any of these other earbuds and the sound quaility matches my high end Over the Ear Sony…

Amazing Buds.

Love these earbuds so much. They just sound fantastic and very well tuned with deep punchy bass. I use this personal EQ which i like the most but even on the basic signature or audiophile presets they are still very good. The only thing i dont like it noise that comes in when like a fan is blowing wind, or wind outside or air guns. Its like actively pushing audio in the buds instead of just ignoring it, i think may be the new Voiceloom AI because i dont think the between 3 ANC ever did this. if they add a toggle to turn it off and it would fix that issue then i would rate them 5 stars.

Better and louder

I love my new PRO buds. I have Sony wf10006 and they are good but not nearly as loud as my PRO X. And the app is awesome for eq control. I love them.

Ultimate sound quality, they sound exactly like new. I just saved money. It would have taken me a while to save up the difference between these and new. So thank you very much. I would have gotten them much sooner if I had known this was one of the offers. I just happened to come across it. With these and lossless Spotify, it's like live concerts in my head.

Absolutely the best earbuds I have purchased to date

The sound is unbelievable, bass is superb to any other earbuds I have purchased I was happy with my previous ear buds but the Pro X takes listening to a whole new level you can’t go wrong purchasing the Pro X !!
